COMPASS

Community Organizations and Mentors Partnering in Anderson Student Success (COMPASS) is an alternative school for students in grades 7-12 at Anderson Community Schools.

COMPASS has already improved the lives of countless students and reignited a spark within them so that they might see past their struggles to what they can become.  Our dedicated and caring team of professionals works daily to change lives and make dreams a reality. COMPASS partners with Meridian Health Services to provide therapeutic support to students during the school day.

Secondary students who are recommended to the COMPASS program attend a full day for a minimum of one semester. Students receive academic, behavioral, and social/emotional support as they progress toward their individual goals. Students must earn their way out of the program via the Exit Scoring Criteria Rubric. To ensure success, upon completion of the program, students are reintegrated into their home school of HMS or AHS with continuous support from life coaches, social workers, teachers and administrators.

COMPASS is a pivotal program for ACS students, families, and the larger community as it maintains engagement within the educational process while keeping students off the streets and in school.
