Student Assessment

'Never, never, never give up."

TESTING OUR KIDS

We want to take some of the mystery (and possibly the anxiety!) out of the tests that are given to ACS students throughout the year.

On this page you can expect to find each assessment, listed alphabetically, with their date ranges, who is tested, a brief explanation along with any other information we believe might be helpful. If you click on the title for the 'What is it?' article for each section you will be taken to the IDOE or equivalent page for more information.

Please contact the webmaster if you have any suggestions. ACS webmaster

NOTE: THE DATES RANGES ARE THE DAYS WHEN STUDENTS MAY BE TESTED. THEY WILL NOT BE TESTING THE ENTIRE TIME!!

  • IDOE, Dyslexia page
  •   What is it?  Beginning with the 2019-20 school year, Indiana's public and charter schools must meet an added requirement to identify, as early as possible, struggling readers who show risk factors for dyslexia and then provide appropriate instruction.  All students in K-2nd grades will undergo a universal screener to check their skills.  Those who are found to be 'at risk' or 'at some risk' will get extra help to learn the needed skills.  Schools will meet with these families to share the child's screener scores and seek parent permission to proceed further.
