Paraeducator Qualification Notice
In accordance with Indiana Department of Education guidelines, all paraeducators employed in Indiana public schools must meet the highly qualified requirement. This can be satisfied by either:
To be considered for employment under this waiver, individuals must complete all required professional development modules and training as designated by the school corporation. Paraeducators employed under a waiver will also receive additional oversight and support to ensure success in their roles.

- Holding an associate degree (or higher),
- Completing at least two years of college (roughly 60 credit hours), or
- Passing the ParaPro Assessment.
