ACS Hall of Fame Celebration set for Oct. 24

The Anderson Education Foundation will induct eight alumni into the Anderson Community Schools Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 24, bringing the wall of honorees to an even 100 exceptional ACS graduates.

The celebration runs from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Anderson High School cafeteria. Tickets are $25 each and include lunch and admission to the induction celebration.

The milestone class arrives in a milestone year. The Hall of Fame began in 2019, but 2026 is the foundation’s 40th year of service.

The Anderson Education Foundation is one of the oldest education foundations in Indiana and has given more than $700,000 in support to Anderson Community Schools over its history.

“Every name on that wall started out in an Anderson classroom,” said Maria Alexander, executive director of Anderson Education Foundation. “Reaching 100 inductees in our 40th year is a chance to celebrate where our graduates have gone and to invest in the students who are sitting in those classrooms today.”

Members of the 2026 Hall of Fame class are: Ashlee Davis, Anthony Harris, Brooks Townsend, Michele Jackson, Marion Teixeira, Jody Walker Pierce, Darla Sallee, and Jason Williamson.

Two members of this year’s class have their own history in the pages of The Herald Bulletin. Jason Williamson said a look back at a Herald Bulletin article about his 1993 trip to Space Camp re-sparked his dream of going to space.

Michele Jackson recalled the newspaper’s story about her winning a scholarship to travel to Washington, D.C., for events surrounding President Bill Clinton’s inauguration.

All proceeds from the event go back to Anderson Education Foundation and its work supporting Anderson Community Schools students and teachers.

Table sponsorships and larger sponsorship packages are still available for businesses, families and community groups that want to be part of the day. To learn more, contact Maria Alexander at 765-640-4303 or [email protected].
