Students and faculty celebrated the Anderson Marching Highlanders’ Indiana State Fair Band Day championship during a raucous pep rally Wednesday afternoon at the high school.
During the 20-minute rally, the 99-member band performed its title-winning program, “Cirque Du Ecossais,” and received congratulations from Principal Alan Landes, Superintendent Joe Cronk and other ACS administrators.
Anderson has now won nine Band Day competitions and has 70 appearances in the competition, the most of any band.
Anderson won state fair marching band championships in 1957-59, 1985-86, 2010, 2019 and 2025. The band took second place in 2024 behind Muncie Central.
