Dear Students, Families, and Staff,
To allow staff and students to attend the funeral service of Anderson Intermediate School teacher Nancy Staley should they wish, Anderson Community Schools (ACS) will have a districtwide asynchronous eLearning Day on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. This asynchronous eLearning Day applies to all schools, students, teachers, and paraeducators in the district. All other district staff will work their normal schedule.

Students will not attend school in person. Instead, they will complete work asynchronously (at their own time). They will have 3 days in which to complete their work. Therefore, unless otherwise communicated by your child’s teacher, work should be submitted by Friday, January 16, 2026.

Teachers will post lessons and assignments in Canvas by 9:00 am. They will be available by email from 9:00 am - 10:30 am and 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. These hours were selected to allow staff and students the opportunity to attend the funeral services should they wish to.
In addition to her funeral service on Wednesday at 11:00 am, there will also be visitation hours at Highland Middle School tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Click here to see more information about her visitation and service.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, will be a normal school day. All students and staff will attend in person and follow our normal schedule.
Mrs. Staley was a deeply respected educator and a beloved member of the ACS family. We know this loss is felt across our community, and we appreciate your understanding, compassion, and support during this difficult time.
