ACS Board of Trustees recognizes long-term employees celebrating a milestone anniversary

The Anderson Community Schools (ACS) Board of Trustees recognized 35 employees for their years of service at their board meeting on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. The board acknowledged employees with 20 or more years of service celebrating a milestone anniversary during the 2022-2023 school year.

“We have over 200 employees with 20 or more years of service at ACS,” said Dr. Hill, School Board President for ACS. “While we acknowledged just a few of them this evening that are celebrating a milestone anniversary this school year, we are so thankful for all of our staff and their service to ACS.”

This is the first year that the ACS School Board has recognized long-term employees for their milestone anniversaries. They plan to continue this recognition to show their appreciation for employees that have dedicated their career to ACS and public education.

In addition to acknowledging long-term employees, Dr. Pat Hill presented Mr. Lennon Brown with a plaque to show his, and the board’s appreciation for his 48.5 years in public education. Mr. Brown, who currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, will be retiring at the end of the month.

“I’m thankful for a lot of things,” said Mr. Brown. “I’m thankful for my time at Anderson Community Schools. “I’m also thankful for all the teachers and students I’ve been able to work with.”

Dr. Scott Deetz, who currently serves as the Superintendent At Madison Grant United School Corporation, will begin as the new Chief Human Resources Officer at ACS on July 1, 2023.
