Anderson Community School Corporation names new Principal and Assistant Principal

The Anderson Community School Corporation (ACSC) Board of Trustees approved at their board meeting yesterday evening the hiring of Shane Bryant as the Principal at Valley Grove Elementary School and Betsy Dugan as the Assistant Principal at Anderson High School for the 2022-2023 school year. 

Mr. Bryant comes to ACSC from Greenfield Central Community Schools where he served as an elementary Principal for the last 8 years. In addition to his years at Greenfield Central, Mr. Bryant also served in administrative roles for two other school districts over 7 years. 

While at Greenfield Central, Mr. Bryant led Weston Elementary to National Blue Ribbon School and Indiana 4-Star School designations. His schools have also consistently shown marked improvement on Indiana statewide iLearn and I-Read 3 assessments.

“Mr. Bryant is student centered, collaborative, and has a passion for motivating students and staff members to achieve at high academic levels,” said Dr. Joe Cronk, Superintendent at ACSC. “Mr. Bryant looks forward to working with Valley Grove staff, students, parents, and the community.”

The ACSC Board of Trustees also approved the hiring of Betsy Dugan as the Assistant Principal of Operations at Anderson High School. Ms. Dugan most recently served as the Dean of Students at Anderson Intermediate School, a position she had held since 2018.

Ms. Dugan has over 20 years of experience at ACSC. Prior to working at Anderson Intermediate School, Ms. Dugan was a Dean at Anderson High School and worked in Special Education.

“Ms. Dugan is truly committed to ACSC and helping support our students,” added Cronk. “She will be a great addition to the administrative team at Anderson High School.”
