Never Settle for Less than Your Best!!!!

Future Problem Solvers …….

Future Problem Solving is a yearlong educational program that combines  the rigorous intellectual challenge of creative problem solving with an interdisciplinary study of the future.
The Valley Grove Future Problem Solving Team is made up of four to eight fifth grade students who stay after school once per week to solve futuristic problems. It teaches the students how to think and examine the world in constructive ways. The students read and discuss the future scene, then conduct research and finally complete a booklet submitted to the state for scoring. The students must solve three problems per year. There are six steps they must follow:

1) Generate possible challenges with the scenario

2) Analyze the problem

3) Choose one challenge to solve

4) Develop an solution

5) Evaluate solutions

6) Develop an action plan for the solution

The Valley Grove Future Problem Solvers coach is Carlynn Malone, second grade teacher.
