You get 4 credits per semester. The class is for 11-12 graders. This class is preparation for occupations that have to do with Child Care. They learn the knowledge and the skills pertaining to child growth and development, parent-child relationships, learning experiences for services, and relationship skills for interacting with clientele.Students have an opportunity to plan and complete activities with preschool children in the following curriculum areas: Art or Craft Activities, Storytelling and Fingerplays, Music and/or Movement Activities, Science Activities, Math Activities, Cooking Activities, Health and Safety Activities, Language Development Activities, Bulletin Boards and Displays, Field Trips and Resource People.
	Students have an opportunity to work with children in the adjoining Title I Preschool Classroom and at Greenbriar Special Needs Preschool. Students completing 1st year can earn dual credit for Ivy Tech State College ECE 101. Seeking Dual Credit for ECE 102 for second year students. We encourage the students to do job shadowing. This program gives the students expertise in developmentally appropriate practices and child growth and development.
