For the 2006-2007 the faculty of Anderson Elementary are committed to helping our students achieve excellence.  A strong focus is being placed on recognizing those students who are “honest, kind and trustworthy.”  Two new initiatives are the Character Counts Referral and the Student of the Week Award. 

The goal for the year is to refer twice as many students for being TRRFFC as for disciplinary reasons.  Students who are referred to the office earn pencils, phone calls home and an opportunity to say the Mariner Way for the morning announcements.

Each week the 6 grade levels nominate a student of the week.  A committee then chooses an overall student as the school’s student of the week.
