General Information

Anderson Elementary School opened in the fall of 2003.  The following schools closed to merge into AES:  Meadowbrook, 25th St, Morgan-Fenner, and Westvale.   The school located on the west side of Raible Avenue was the first new school to be built in almost thirty years.  The population of the school was 668 students in grades k-5.

We became a school wide Title I building for the 2004-05 school year.  As a building we worked hard in establishing high expectations in both academic achievement and in student behavior.  We implemented school wide procedures along with the Second Step social skills curriculum.  Our staff is working harder than ever in collaborating and planning solid execution of our aligned curriculum in both language arts and math.  We have met or exceeded all our goals that were outlined in our school wide plan.  Some of our accomplishments are as follows:

¨ Attendance rate above 95%

¨ Decrease in disciplinary referrals to the office by 30%

¨ Increase in ISTEP language arts scores of 17% and

¨ Increase of math scores of 17%

Anderson Elementary is  a state of the art facility.
